A century of history in the park

Sinaia Casino

A Belle Époque landmark built on the orders of a king, tucked inside Dimitrie Ghica Park.

Built on royal orders

A palace of its own kind

King Carol I commissioned the Sinaia Casino in 1912, and architect Petre Antonescu had it finished within a year — fast, even by today's standards. Set inside Dimitrie Ghica Park, a few minutes from both PeleÈ™ Castle and Sinaia Monastery, it was built to give the town's growing crowd of aristocratic summer visitors somewhere elegant to gather in the evenings.

Over a century later, the building itself is still one of the most striking things to see in central Sinaia, whether or not you step inside — a short, easy stop to fold into an afternoon walk through the park.
