A king's summer palace, close enough to visit twice
Peleș Castle was built between 1873 and 1914 for Carol I, Romania's first king, and it shows — more than 170 rooms, hand-carved woodwork, stained glass, and one of the finest armor collections in Europe. It opened as a summer residence in 1883, then kept growing for another three decades under Czech architect Karel Liman, who layered German neo-Renaissance detail with flashes of neo-Ottoman and neo-Rococo style throughout.
Because it's a genuine 7–10 minute walk from Creative Lodging, it's easy to catch it twice: once for the full guided tour, and once just to see the gardens and façade at golden hour when the day-trip crowds have thinned out.
